The Department of Computer Science both UG and PG and Institution of Innovation Cell of St.Mary’s College (Autonomous) jointly organised a webinar on “Developing Online Repository of Ideas Developed on the way forward plan” on 16-Feb-2022 via Microsoft Teams platform. Mrs.J.Aarthy Suganthi Kani, Assistant Professor ,Department of ECE ,T. John  Institute of Technology ,Bengaluru was the Resource person. The speaker discussed about various Open source online Repository and   its benefits . DSpace online repository was clearly discussed and its features were explained in an effective manner. Students of Computer Science both UG and PG were the beneficiary. They found the webinar interactive and interesting.

Institution Innovation Cell(IIC) Department of Computer Science, St.Mary’s College(Autonomous),Thoothukudi, successfully conducted a Competition on “Creativity and Innovation among students”  organized by the IIC members: S.Tresa, R.Roshini, R.Santhiya .On 21.12.2020, Monday 10 am.

The principal objective of Competition was to enhance students’ knowledge with their Creative streak and express their ideas using the Innovation.

The Competition started with the Prayer by Ms.Marcina of III B.Sc Computer Science and Welcome Address by Ms.Joericka of III B.Sc Computer Science. The Competition was judged by Ms.Sharon Roque Corera IIC Coordinator and Assistant Professor of English Department, St.Mary’s College.

During this Competition 14 groups were formed with maximum 3 students and were given few topics one week before. The students were asked to choose a topic and creatively display through ppt or word document or working model. 

III B.Sc Computer Science and I B.Sc Computer Science were invited to watch the competition.

The Winners were announced by the judge

• 1st prize : Muthu Mari A, Nivethitha V, Jeyabharathi M
• 2nd prize : Joseph Amala Lincy B, Kathija Apsana M, Luxcima L
• 3rd prize : Durga Lakshmi K, Hemavalli R, Muthu Iswarya V

Winners & participants were awarded with trophies & certificates.

The Competition came to an end with the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Arthi Angeline of III B.Sc Computer Science.
