Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry was recognized as Research Centre by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in the academic year 2024-2025.

The prime objective of our Research Cetre is to advance the frontiers of chemistry through cutting-edge research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of innovative solutions to address global challenges.

The Department is staffed by a team of highly qualified professors holding doctorates, who collaborate with researchers to explore new ideas and address scientific inquiries. The Department's research spans a wide spectrum, from classical disciplines to cutting-edge fields such as Nanotechnology, Green Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Material Science, Phytochemistry, Computational Chemistryand Electrochemistry.

To foster a vibrant research environment, the Department is equipped with advanced laboratories housing state-of-the-art instruments, including UV- visible spectrophotometers, analytical centrifuges, flame photometer, BOD incubator, COD digester, Mini Soil Analysis lab, Semiautoanalyzer etc.
