The Post-Graduation degree provides professional training in modern economics that includes tools and techniques of economic analysis and also relates theory to real world practices. Nowadays, the scope of job opportunities for economists has expanded in different sectors like education, business, NGOs and Government organizations due to economic liberalization and globalization. Organizations dealing with data collection and interpretations, management, consultancy firms and planning commissions recruit economists at lucrative pay scales. We create a research led environment where students work alongside leading researchers to develop the skills required becoming professional economists or becoming analysts on alternative career paths. Post graduate students in economics will be prepared to work in policy- making institutions also. The M.A. in Economics program emphasizes practical applications of economic theory. It is organized to provide students with analytical tools by which they can use to solve many economic problems existing in the real world. The program provides students with practical econometric skills that are popularly used in both private and public sectors. The MA Economics is the only qualification to attend the INDIAN ECONOMIC SERVICES (IES) Exam and which makes them to join in the posting of Higher Administrator Grade in our Economy.
