COUNSELING FORUM
Counseling is a term used to comfort, listen or to help people who are experiencing emotional problems. Going to a counselor is the healthiest thing that an individual can do for themselves.
Objectives:
- To empower students Community.
- To develop their positive attitude and make them optimists.
- To develop the counselees interpersonal and intrapersonal relationship To increase the leadership qualities among youth.
- To help the counselee attain self-awareness and self-realization.
- To help the counselee to become a motivated, and goal oriented person.
- To help the counselee to equip to meet future problems – getting help internally organize much better than before.
- To empower students Community.
The Counseling Forum is active with two full time counsellors

2021 - 2022
Counseling is a collaborative effort between the counselor and client. Professional counselors of the college help the clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems that cause an emotional disturbance, coping skills, strengthen self-esteem and promote behavior change and optimal mental health.Professional counseling is a safe and confidential collaboration between qualified counselors and clients to promote mental health and wellbeing. This enhances self-understanding and resolves identified concerns. Clients are active participants in the counseling process at every stage.
Counselling not only helps the students to make decisions about their professional careers, but it also makes them confident and mentally prepares them for society. Counsellors help clients to recognize their strengths, sharpen their interests and provide them with career options to explore their dreams. The college Counselling Forum is active with Counselors Dr.Gowsalya Baskaran and Mrs. Rohini and Ms. Jeya Bala. Counselling is given to the students as per their needs.

The college counselling forum aims to help the students to become self-aware and reach their highest potential while dealing with anxiety and stress. The counselling forum provides a happy and comfortable environment for students to discuss their problems regarding their academic and social life. We also help the students to explore any skill or path. The forum also provides motivation and therapy sessions. The forum helps the students explore any topic or situation and discuss any concerns they may have. The students are helped to work through their problems, to develop self-awareness and overcome anxiety & stress. Counselling not only helps the students to make decisions pertaining to their professional career, but it also makes them confident and mentally prepares them for society. Counsellors help clients to recognize their strengths, sharpen their interests and provide them with career options to explore their dreams. The college Counselling Forum is active with Counselors Dr.Gowsalya Baskaran and Mrs. Rohini . Counselling is given to the students as per their needs. Due to covid the forum also provides Tele- Counselling for the students.

The college Counselling Forum is active from the year of 2015.Various counselling is given to the students as per their needs. We have one full time counsellor and three part time counsellors in this academic year. The counselling room is free from outside disturbances and gives a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to the clients.

- Programme were organized year wise to give an orientation to students especially at the beginning of every semester.
- The counselling forum gave an awareness program on ‘ World Suicide Prevention Day’ and
- ‘ World Mental Health Day’ on joining with the department of Psychology
